The season 19 live shows ofAmerica’s Got Talenthave officially kicked off — andSofía Vergarais starting them with a bang!
During the Aug. 13 episode of the NBC hit series, Sofía helped one act make series history when she hit her Live Show Golden Buzzer for the very first time.
Hakuna Matata Acrobatics were the lucky contestants who won the special honor after their impressive act, which saw the group perform a series of acrobatic tricks — all carefully balanced upon each other’s bodies and rolling platforms.

Los Osos High School dancer andAmerica’s Got Talentcontestant Emily Gold, 17, has died.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Rodrigo Jimenez said that “officers from the California Highway Patrol Rancho Cucamonga area responded to a pedestrian down in lanes.”

There’s a newAmerica’s Got Talentwinner in town!
After weeks of intense competition,Richard Goodall, the singing janitor from Terre Haute, Indiana, who earned one of judgeHeidi Klum’s Golden Buzzers, was declared the season 19 winner on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
Goodall, 55, walked away with the title and the grand prize of $1 million — as well as a new wife, which he revealed during Tuesday’s finale.

As season 19 of the national talent show ends its semifinal rounds, 10 contestants have made it to the two-part finale, beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
After a show-stopping season of gravity-defying stunts and legendary vocal stylings, America voted for the final 10 who will compete for the $1 million grand prize.

America’s Got Talentseason 19 is continuing to make history!
On Tuesday, Aug. 6, the hit NBC talent series announced the 44 acts that will compete in this season’s live shows, set to kick off Aug. 13.
The live shows will begin with four weeks of quarterfinals, in which 11 acts will take the stage but only three will advance on based on America’s vote.
