During the “Espresso” hitmaker’s Short n' Sweet Tour stop at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Oct. 16, she performed a cover ofDolly Parton’s “9 to 5” as a surprise for fans — who seemed to love her rendition.
Parton’s 1980 hit was chosen as Carpenter’s nightly surprise cover song in a game of spin the bottle, according tofan footage on social media.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Carpenter, 26, performed a thrilling medley of her hits from her most recent albumShort n' Sweet, playing “Please Please Please,” “Espresso” and"Taste,“the latter of which she debuted live for the first time at the awards show.
At the start of the performance, Carpenter descended from the ceiling, seated on a diamond-shaped seat in a bedazzled white bodysuit singing “Please Please Please” with a giant astronaut grasping her in their hand.

At the final North American stop of the 25-year-old singer’s Short n' Sweet Tour at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, she went to “arrest” someone in the crowd for “being too hot” and choseJack Antonoff— before playfully opting for his wife,Margaret Qualley, instead.
The moment went down before Carpenter played her song “Juno,” as she looked around the arena for her “Juno girl” of the evening.
