César Torruella signed up for theBank of America Chicago Marathonwhile parked outside his gym.
The 35-year-old music educator — who started running about two years ago — never expected to run a marathon. In fact, for most of his life, he could not run at all.
He grew up to be a professional opera singer and moved to Houston, Texas, in 2012.

“She’s an awesome mom, to watch someone care about someone else so much and give their all and is willing to give their all,” Nelly says. “Like she said, sometimes it can be too far but you would way prefer to have a parent that goes too far than a parent that doesn’t go far enough.

Speaking about her son’s name — Kareem Kenkaide Haynes — Ashanti revealed that the inspiration came from Nelly, 49.
“His dad named him with a lot of pride,” the proud mom told the outlet. “We were going back and forth for a long time on his name and he was very adamant. He was like, ‘This is what I want, I love this.’ ”
“I thought it was just so amazing and so thoughtful and so sweet because Kenkaide is my dad’s name and obviously my dad has only girls, so Nelly was just like, ‘I think that would be really dope.
