Australian workers can now (legally) enjoy their time out of the office guilt-free.
The new “right to disconnect” law allows employees the right to ignore off-hours emails and calls without fear of being punished, according toReutersand theBBC.
“The right to disconnect protects employees who refuse to monitor, read or respond to contact or attempted contact outside their working hours, unless their refusal is unreasonable," per theFair Work Commission.

Australian breaking organizationAUSBreakhas pushed back against claims that Olympic breakerRachael Gunn, known as Raygun, manipulated the selection process for the2024 Paris Olympics, and publicly stated that they “stand in solidarity” with the athlete.
The 36-year-old did not medal in the Olympic event, but her moves went viral during herbreaking— AKA breakdancing — competition on Aug. 9.

Influencer Jaxon Tippet has died less than two weeks after his 30th birthday, per a post shared on the Australian fitness coach’s Instagram.
“It’s with a heavy heart that our beloved Jaxon has passed away on Nov 10th 2024. He was such a beautiful soul and had such a positive impact on the world,” read the caption, which accompanied asmiling photo of Tippetwith his birth and death years, “1994 - 2024.
