16 Hospitalized Due to 'Improperly Mixed Pool Chemicals' at Grand Opening of Texas’ Great Wolf Lodge

Sixteen people were sent to the hospital after being exposed to “improperly mixed pool chemicals” at a Texas resort. The incident occurred at Great Wolf Lodge’s grand opening in the town of Webster on Wednesday, Aug. 7, city officials confirmed ina post on social media. A third-party contractor at the resort was responsible for the chemical mixing, which caused a hazardous reaction, according to the statement shared on Facebook. The chemical issue happened in an “isolated” building separate from the hotel and water park.

16-Year-Old Arrested After 4 Young Victims Found Dead in Ga. Park

The sheriff’s office said deputies were called to Pleasant Grove Park at around 11:15 p.m. local time on Saturday, Aug. 24, on a report of a shooting, according to anews release. When they arrived, deputies found four dead Hispanic men. The victims' names have not been released, but the sheriff’s office said that they were 21, 19, 18 and 17, according to 11 Alive.

On Monday, Aug. 26, Jahmari Reid, of Falmouth, Trelawny, went into the water alone, before his decapitated body was found the following day, per local media outletsJamaica Observer,Loop Jamaica News, and theJamaica Star. The teenager was a grade 10 student at William Knibb Memorial High School, and was getting ready to go into grade 11, his mother, Lavern Robinson, told theJamaica Star. “Right now [I] don’t know what to say. Jahmari has been going to sea from him small,” she added to the publication.

As Landon pulled the tree, the front end of the tractor came up and the tractor went backwards while Landon was still on it, according to the reports. The tractor came down on top of the teen, causing injuries that killed him, officials said.
