The theater community is mourning thedeathof Tony winnerGavin Creel.
Creel’s partner Alex Temple Ward confirmed that Creel died on Monday, Sept. 30 at the age of 48 amid treatment for arare and aggressive form of sarcoma. The news came as a shock to his fans and Broadway collaborators, who knew the actor, songwriter and singer from his performances in productions likeThoroughly Modern Millie,Hair,She Loves MeandHello, Dolly!

Ken Page, the Broadway actor and voice actor known for his roles in the musicalsCatsandThe Wiz, has died. He was 70.
PEOPLE confirmed news of Page’s death on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Page was born and raised in St. Louis. He arrived on Broadway in 1975 when he joined the cast ofThe Wizmusical as the show’s Lion, paving way for a career on the stage in New York that lasted more than two decades.
