A former child services employee has been arrested and charged with murder after her teenage daughter was found unresponsive on the floor with signs of extensive abuse, police allege.
Diane Natasha Mack, 34, was arrested in connection with the death of the 13-year-old, who was found unresponsive in her Sebring, Fla., home last week, theHighlands County Sheriff’s Officesaid in a statement.

A former high school security guard who allegedly worked with a high schooler to sell explosives on Instagram has just been sentenced to two years in federal prison.
Later that day, a special agent bomb technician “identified 62 improvised explosive devices contained within the package,” per the complaint, which notes that the devices were about six inches long.

A former high school teacher in California who secretly recorded children with hidden cameras installed in school bathrooms has been sentenced to 17 and a half years in federal prison, officials said.

Three Memphis officers on trial in connection with the death ofTyre Nicholswere convicted on charges related to the fatal 2023 beating but were acquitted on the most serious counts.
All three officers were acquitted of the most serious charge, which was violating civil rights causing death, which could have resulted in a life sentence.
Prosecutors had accused officers Bean, Haley and Smith of unlawful assault, failing to intervene in the assault and failing to render medical aid, in addition to violating Nichols’ civil rights.
