The Democratic and Republic nominees took the podium at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia to discuss a wide range of campaign topics, from immigration to the economy to abortion.
Harris, 59, and Trump, 78, entered the stage at the same time, with Harris crossing over the median between the two lecterns and extending her hand first.

Kamala Harrisis refutingDonald Trump’s claim that he wants to “protect” women.
While speaking at his rally in Green Bay, Wis. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, Trump, 78, said his team warned him not to say he wanted to “protect the people” and “the women of our country.”
Recalling the conversation, Trump then added that he was going to protect them “whether the women like it or not.

While sitting down for a virtual forum withOprah Winfreyon Thursday, Sept. 19, Harris quipped, “If somebody breaks into my house they’re getting shot.” Catching herself, she added, “I probably should not have said that. But my staff will deal with that later,” eliciting laughter from the audience.
