Doug Murray has known his neighbor, Teryn Carli, since he was about 16 years old. At that time, while both were in high school, the Alberta, Canada, locals worked together at a grocery store. So when Murray, now 34, moved into his home this spring, he found it amusing that Carli happened to be his new neighbor.
“When I got there, I quickly realized that I was interrupting their date and jokingly introduced myself as the neighbor, telling them not to mind me grabbing some of the dinner she made for him,” Murray tells PEOPLE exclusively.
