A man was rescued from a near-fatal situation when an off-duty New York City fire chief pulled him from a burning car on the highway.
On Monday, Aug. 12, New York City Fire Department (FDNY) Deputy Chief George Healy was on his way to Disney World during his family vacation when he noticed an accident on Belt Parkway in Brooklyn caused traffic to be at a standstill. An Ohio man is dead following an encounter with police after he abducted his 7-year-old non-custodial daughter from a relative’s house, authorities said.
On Monday, Nov. 11, at about 3 p.m., Charles Alexander, 43, took the girl from a relative’s house in Empire following an argument and a physical altercation, theAssociated Pressreports.
An Amber Alert was immediately issued, asking the public to be on the lookout for a Ford F-650 U-Haul truck with Arizona plates after Alexander took the girl without permission,WOIOreports.
