Police said Watson, 73, was arrested on Sunday, July 21, when his ship docked in Nuuk, according tothe Associated PressandReuters. Watson’s ship was attempting to “intercept Japan’s newly-built factory whaling ship Kangei Maru in the North Pacific” when the ship stopped in Greenland to refuel, according to a statement from theCaptain Paul Watson Foundation.

Pilot Transporting Rescue Animals Dies in N.Y. Crash, but 2 Dogs Survive: 'Gained His Angel Wings'

In a news release, theGreene County Sheriff’s Office(GCSO) said the crash happened on Sunday, Nov. 24, around 6:05 p.m. local time, in a remote part of the town of Windham. In another news releaseissued that same day, the sheriff’s office said the pilot was tentatively identified as Seuk Kim, 49, of Springfield, Virginia.
