Between ‘25’ and ‘30’

In 2020, Adele was captured announcing her return to music while performing at herbest friend’s wedding. In the Instagram video, she told friends to “expect my album in September.”

In the years between, Adele remained out of the spotlight. She did, however, make headlines over her weight loss.

During this hiatus, she also confirmed hersplitfrom exSimon Koneckiafter more than seven years together.

In November 2021, Adele released30. When she announced its official release date, she opened up about what she went through in the recent years.

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started [this album] nearly 3 years ago,” shewrote on Instagram. “Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe, I always have. And yet there I was knowingly - willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!"

She added, “I’ve learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I’ve shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones. Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I’ve finally found my feeling again. I’d go as far as to say that I’ve never felt more peaceful in my life.”

“I live in a cave, but she’s achieved an incredible amount,” the musicianreportedly said. “I really love her voice.”

At theHollywood Reporter‘s Women In Entertainment galain December 2023, she opened up about the break she took.

“The real reason that I’ve only had four albums and I don’t think that many people know this – they know that I have a child – my son is 11 years old," she said.

“So, if you do the maths, that means that at the height of 21… I fell pregnant. To many that would be, and it was, considered career suicide."

She added, “It was there and then that I chose to reject the scarcity of success, and the idea that you have to be constantly relevant to be successful.”
