Alanis Morissetteand her husband, Mario “Souleye” Treadway, are the proud parents of three children: sons Ever Imre and Winter Mercy and daughter Onyx Solace.

The “Ironic” singer and Treadway began dating in 2009 and got married at their house in Los Angeles in May 2010.

Morissette posed for the cover ofHealthin May 2020 while breastfeeding Winter and spoke about her obsession with motherhood. “I love moms so much. If I talk about it too much, I’ll start crying,” she admitted. “I just think moms are so selfless day in and day out — women are just killing it all the time.”

Ever, Onyx and Winter are already fans of their mom’s music. During an appearance onAudacy’s K-EARTH 101in October 2022, Morissette said, “They do [listen], even when I’m like ‘shut that off!’ They’re so sweet.”

Morissette and Treadway welcomed their first son, Ever, on Dec. 25, 2010. The new mom announced his birthon X(formerly Twitter), writing that she was “moved beyond words and so grateful” and “so in love with my new nuclear family.”

In 2015, when Ever was 4 years old, theJagged Little Pillsinger told PEOPLE that the mother-son duo already had a deep connection to each other and the world. “We have real bona fide philosophical conversationsabout the galaxy, animals, what God is,” she said.

Morissettehas been openabout how she and Treadway practice “unschooling” with their kids, starting with their eldest, Ever. TheWeedsactress toldKatie Loweson her podcastKatie’s Cribin 2020 that she and Treadway “loosely reference” ideas ranging from music to spatial awareness to interpersonal intelligence to teach Ever.

“When Ever says to me sometimes, ‘Mom, what if I want to get my doctorate?’ or whatever, I just say, ‘Yeah, whenever you want to go to school, you’re gonna go to school. And if you want to just keep learning outside of that context, then you will,’ " she shared. “Like if Ever wakes up in the middle of the night and asks me a question, I’m not gonna blow him off, ‘cause this is the time he’s gonna learn about that dinosaur.”

One of Ever’s favorite places is the beach. In December 2020, Morissette shared a picture onInstagramof Ever jumping down sand dunes on his 10th birthday. Later, in April 2022, Treadway shareda selfiewith Ever on the beach.

He also loves to hit the recording studio with his dad, who shared a selfie of the two onInstagramwearing headphones and standing in front of microphones in February 2022.

Onyx Solace Morissette-Treadway, 7

Morissette and Treadway welcomed their daughter, Onyx, on June 23, 2016. Morissette shared the news onInstagram, writing, “she’s here!” and “#beyondblessed.”

In her 2020 interview withHealth,Morissette spoke about her education process with Onyx. “Unschooling, for me, is child-led education. So if … my daughter is like … ‘I want to put glitter on that thing’ … boom—we do that,” she said. “I basically get inside their eyeballs. I’m constantly watching their eyes and what they’re pulled toward, and then we do the deep dive.”

Morissette shouted out Onyx in anInstagrampost for International Women’s Day in March 2021, and later that year, Onyx joined her mom onstage. Inthe sweet moment, Onyx, Ever and their dad stood with Morissette under falling confetti to mark the end of her tour.

Morissette and Treadway’s third child, Winter, was born on Aug. 8, 2019. The singer announced the news of Winter’s birth onInstagrama few days later.

The “Hand in My Pocket” singer opened up about practicing attachment parenting with Winter when he was an infant. “For me, attachment parenting is, on a very basic level, eye contact, skin-on-skin, responsivity, gentleness,” the doting mom said on a 2020 episode of theKatie’s Cribpodcast.

“The word ‘attunement’ is [important] in parenting … If we’re not attuned to each other and we’re missing each other like ships passing, there’s not a chance for that deep connection that will be the hotbed for their whole life,” she continued.

Like his siblings, Winter loves to be outside. In October 2022, Treadway shared a sweet picture of Winter dancing on the beach. “sand dancer !” he captionedthe image.

Winter also loves to go on walks and hikes with his dad. In February 2021, Morissette shared a picture onInstagramof Winter in a backpack on a hike with Treadway and his big brother, Ever, and in July 2022, Treadway shareda selfieof him and Winter taking a stroll.

Ahead of his fifth birthday, Winterjoined his mom on tourin June 2024. Morissette shared a photo on Instagram of her son assisting with her makeup and jokingly wrote: “I like to do my own makeup for most of my tour. but sometimes, a master appears to show me how it’s done.”
