All About Dr. Phil's Sons, Jay and Jordan McGraw

Dr. Phil McGrawdishes out plenty of sage advice, and when it comes to parenting, he’s got real-life experience after raising his sons, Jay and Jordan McGraw.

“I don’t care how much you love your kid. You gotta take a break and recharge your batteries,” he recalled to theTodayshow. “It’s important for the child, too, because they learn, ‘Hey, Mom and Dad went away, but they came back!’ That’s how you get away from separation anxiety.”

Jay McGraw, 45

Dr. Phil and Robin’s eldest son, Jay McGraw, was born on Sept. 12, 1979.

He holds a bachelor of science in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a law degree from Southern Methodist University, according tohis LinkedIn.

Jay’s professional career has kept him close to his dad. The father-son duo co-founded Stage 29 Productions, of which Jay is CEO and president.

In addition, he is aNew York Timesbest-selling author of self-help books for teenagers, includingLife Strategies for TeensandClosing the Gap: A Strategy for Bringing Parents and Teens Together.

Another special moment happened in front of the cameras: Jay met his wife, formerPlayboyPlaymate Erica Dahm, while hostingRenovate My Family. Erica and her two identical triplet sisters, who are also formerPlayboyPlaymates, served as construction experts on the show.

Since tying the knot, the couple have welcomed daughter Avery Elizabeth in 2010 and son London Phillip in 2011. The elder Phil son enjoys documenting his family’s adventureson Instagram.

Jordan McGraw, 38

Dr. Phil and Robin’s younger son, Jordan McGraw, was born on Oct. 21, 1986.

Like his famous father, Jordan chose a career in the spotlight. From 2011 to 2015, he was in the alt-rock bandStars in Stereobefore launching his solo career. HecollaboratedwithSarah Hylandon “Met at a Party” andtoured with his friends, theJonas Brothers, in 2019.

“Beenworking on my dad jokesfor years,” the singer quippedon Instagram.

The duo — whodated brieflya decade prior —tied the knotin a private wedding ceremony on Dec. 9, 2020. (Morgan waspreviously wedto herRich Kids of Beverly HillscostarBrendan Fitzpatrickfor three years.)

Jordan and Morgan are now parents to two children who were born almost exactly one year apart: daughterRow Renggliin 2021, and sonGrey Oliverin 2022.

According to the couple, they are content with being a family of four. When Morgan returned toNightly Popco-hosting duties in June 2022, she shared thatJordan had a vasectomy.
