“I think that I had a lot of overwhelming moments, but I probably felt most emotional when we wrapped the movie, and I know that I’ll feel emotional tonight, mostly because this is the first time that I’ve gotten all these people into one room in a long time,” she explains. “I mean, in some cases, they weren’t even in the same room while we were making the movie.”
She adds, “So I’m just absolutely delighted to be reunited with everybody.” Kendrick also says that she hopes to do more directing in the future.
The multi-talented star also spoke about directing while appearing as an actress inWoman of the Hour.
“Directing wasn’t a big problem,” she tells PEOPLE. “There were a couple people that I would sort of turn to and go, ‘Did I stay in the frame? Okay, great.’ I’m happy. And we can move on.”
She continues, “I even remember my editor telling me that he’d never worked with an actor-director, and he wasn’t sure if it was going to get kind of dicey and if I would get defensive about things.”
“But he said to me about four weeks in, he was like, ‘Jesus, you’re like, a real mercenary,’” Kendrick recalls. “Because I think I’m the first to go, ‘Oh that no, that take isn’t right. Like, let’s look around for something else.' "
