Anne Hathawayis headlining the adaptation of one ofColleen Hoover’s most popular novels.

The Oscar winner, 42, will star in the movie version ofVerity, Hoover’s bestselling thriller that was first published in 2018, PEOPLE confirms. Hathaway and Hoover, 44, are among the movie’s producers.

Hathaway is reuniting with director Michael Showalter after they madeThe Idea of Youtogether, the film adaptation of Robinne Lee’s romance novel that debuted earlier this year.

A synopsis forVeritydescribes the story as following a struggling writer named Lowen Ashleigh who, in need of money, accepts the “job offer of a lifetime.”

“Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling thriller author Verity Crawford (Hathaway), has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series that his wife is unable to finish after a mysterious accident.”

Hoover saw the first of her book-to-movie adaptations hit the big screen in August:It Ends with Us, starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, who also directed the romantic drama. Whether thesequel book,It Starts with Us, will get a movie treatment remains unclear, though the first film was a box-office success.
