Australian Firefighters Calendar Donating to U.S. Hurricane Relief As a Thank You for Wildfire Support

TheAustralian Firefighters Calendaris giving back to those who have helped Australia during recent tough times.

In October, theAustralian Firefighter Calendar announcedthe release of its 2025 calendar editions — including calendars with Australian firefighters posing with cats, puppies, koalas, horses, and more — and its efforts to support American fans with donations tohurricane relief efforts in the U.S.

The calendar, which donates to causes yearly, wanted to support U.S. hurricane relief efforts as a thank-you for Americans' help and donations during Australia’sdevastating 2019-20 wildfire season.

“The Australian Firefighters Calendar is known for its charitable efforts, often supporting various causes, including those related to disaster relief. While we primarily focus on wildlife and dog and cat refuges in Australia, it’s not uncommon for us to expand our support to international relief efforts, such as those following Hurricane Helene in the U.S.,” David Rogers, director of the Australian Firefighters Calendar, said.

“This year will be the 5-year anniversary of the devastating Black Summer Bushfires that devastated Australia. It is reported that 3 billion native animals perished. This event shocked people around the world, and it was the catalyst for our campaign to build Australia’s only mobile wildlife hospital (Matilda),” Dr. Stephen Mills, the founder and CEO of Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, shared in a statement.

“The support we received from around the globe has literally provided us the vehicle to be able to save wildlife where the support is needed,” he added.

The 2025 offerings from the Australian Firefighters Calendar include another nod to the brand’s U.S. fanbase. For the 2025 calendar photoshoots, the Australian Firefighters Calendar flew in two U.S. firefighters, Alijah Johnson and Jacob Hacker.

“This opportunity has been the proudest moment of my career. Being the first Black firefighter featured in this iconic calendar is more than just a personal achievement for me. Still, it’s a chance to show others you can break barriers, represent your community, and be a part of a good cause on a global scale,” Jackson said of his inclusion in the 2025 calendars.

The 2025 calendars will feature five different editions: Dogs, Cats, and Horses, which will feature firefighters and the animals mentioned; Mixed Animal, which includes firefighters posing with koalas and other wildlife; and Hero, which includes dramatic (and shirtless) shots of the firefighters without animals.
