Ayo Edebiri Says She's Giving 'Nollywood Vibes' in Colorful Mosaic Dress and Bold Earrings on Emmys 2024 Carpet

Ayo Edebiriserved up bold glamor at the76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards— and proved yet again that she’s a star on and off screen with her fashionable return to the starry awards show on Sept. 15.

The Bearactress, 28, wore a colorful Bottega Veneta strapless design (from the pre-spring ‘25 collection) that was covered in custom red, black, marigold and black starfish sequins. The dress also featured a sexy slit that nearly hit her her waistline.

Speaking to Laverne Cox on E!’s pre-show, Edebiri said of her mosaic-like design: “It was perfect as soon as I saw the sketches. Danielle Goldberg, my stylist, said it was really reminiscent to her of Gaetano Pesce, this amazing Italian artist who just passed away. And for me, I’m also getting Nollywood vibes.”

Edebiri completed the bold look with shiny black Gianvito Rossi sandal heels that matched her manicure courtesy of OPI’s Metallic Mega Mix collection and statement gold earrings.

Her hair was styled in romantic waves usingCovet & Manehair extensions andMaui Moistureproducts. Her hairstylist,Miles Jeffriesdescribed the look as a “modern take on ’70s brushed-out soft textured waves” with someSolange Knowlesinfluence.

Makeup artist Ernesto Casillas created a glowy complexion and winged eyeliner on the actress using Charlotte Tilbury Beauty.

While chatting with Cox, the comedian also talked about her evolving style, which has broken the Internet on more than one occasion. “I started off doing stand-up comedy. My uniform was big pant, big shirt. That was sort of my life. It definitely was a costume still, but yeah things have certainly changed, so its nice getting to play in this space.”

Edebiri is nominated for outstanding actress in a comedy series for her role as Sydney Adamu on FX’sThe Bear. The rolewon her the award for outstanding supporting actressatthe 75th Primetime Emmysin January — her first Emmy win.

At the event, Edebiri topped best dressed list thanks to her custom black leather fit-and-flare Louis Vuitton dress, a last-minute change she said was a “mistake turned into a miracle" on the carpet. As for her accessories, she rocked a Brilliant EarthDiamond Tennis Necklace,Certified Lab Grown Diamond Stud Earrings 9CTand an Emerald Eternity Diamond Ring.
