Bachelorette Alum James McCoy Taylor Arrested in Texas

College Station Police Department

New details have emergedin the case involvingBachelorettealum James McCoy Taylor.

Local outletKBTXreported that the victim was a 19-year-old college student, though her name and age were not specified in the arrest warrant.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, he rejected the accusations, as he said, “I’m a pretty big guy but I was trying to ‘unlawfully restraining’ a girl and she just … got away?… and walked right to her Uber right outside my house? With NO injuries?”

He added, “I would never hurt anybody. I’m nice to EVERY person I meet.”

According to a probable cause document from Detective Gregory Blankenship Jr., Taylor and the woman met at Manziel’s Money Bar in College Station and allegedly went back to Taylor’s condo, where they “made out” before the woman “changed her mind and wanted to leave.”

She alleged in the document that Taylor “tackled and got on top of her when she tried to leave,” but she was eventually “able to escape and flee the scene before she called the police department.”

The woman’s recollection of the events was that Taylor got “very serious and intense” while they were making out," so she called a friend from his bathroom and asked the friend “to order an Uber so she could leave,” per the doc.

Taylor “walked her down to the front door and kissed her,” according to the victim’s account in the document, and after she “opened the front door to walk out,” he began kissing her again. She “tried to leave but [Taylor] threw her down on the ground and got on top of her.”

She further alleged he “groped her vagina” and “used his body weight to hold her down and kiss her more,” before she was “able to wiggle free and escape through the front door.”

Det. Blankenship Jr. noted in the document that he was shown “photos of multiple contusions on the victim’s hip and left side of her buttocks,” and also saw text messages between the woman and her friend, one which read: “He’s forcing himself on me.”

Det. Blankenship Jr. also spoke with Taylor, who allegedly described the “encounter [as] enjoyable and consensual” and “denied having shoved the victim down and getting on top of her.” He noted, “I believe [Taylor] was not being truthful.”

Based on “the victim’s text messages, statement to her friend and injuries,” the detective requested a warrant for Taylor as the behavior was “probable cause to charged [him] with unlawful restraint.”

He continued, “I don’t know the [woman’s] name because we didn’t spend much time together but I feel like she wouldn’t want all this to have gotten here either if she could go back. And I don’t hate you either. I just wish I knew where you were coming from and where this came from.”
