So much goes intoHannah Neeleman’s lifestyle, between her boomingBallerina Farmbusiness and her viral fame on social media. But when it comes to skincare, the mom of eight keeps it totally simple.

“I love being outside. I feel like I feel better when I am getting vitamin D,” she says, adding that she makes an effort to “drink a lot of water” as well.

Neeleman says she avoids scrubbing her face, preferring a gentler rinse to a more conventional cleansing. She sticks to organic makeup too, mainly using a simple blush and tubular mascara, which can be removed with water and without back residue.

Like with her beauty routine, the social media star fuels her body with basic foods, and her nutrition and skincare might be working in tandem, at least when it comes to one specific ingredient. It was actually Neeleman’s own mother who noticed it first.

“She was like, ‘When you started drinking raw milk, your skin got a lot better,'” she recalls of her mom’s beauty note. “And I kind of think there’s something to that.”

As Neeleman explained howshe’s incorporated her new protein powder into her daily schedule, she also emphasized the importance of sticking to a routine, whether she’s focusing on her workout regime or any other wellness needs.

“The beginning of my day is very important,” the Utah-based creator told PEOPLE, explaining how she starts her mornings with a workout and a mix of chlorophyll, lemon and French salt in her water.

“If I do that, then I am more disciplined on what I eat throughout the day. I feel like if I start out crappy, then it’s just like, Oh, I’ve already screwed up,” continued Neeleman, winner of the2023 Mrs. American pageant. “[If] I feel like I’ve taken care of myself then we can get going.”
