Filmmaker Gleason, also known for her role in 1997’sBoogie Nights, makes her feature directorial debut after some experience directing episodes of television series in the 1990s. She also wroteThe Grotto’s script as her first screenwriting credit.
“I don’t know a single person in their late 40s or older who hasn’t questioned the decisions they’ve made in life,” Gleason, 74, tells PEOPLE. “What if you’ve just been going along, letting everybody else decide for you? And then what if everything goes away? Where do you start over, how do you start over?”
