Bill Lawrence Insists Daughter Charlotte Isn't a Nepo Baby as He Says He Has 'No Connections' to Music Industry (Exclusive)

Bill Lawrenceis so proud of his singer-daughterCharlotte Lawrence— but he had no help in her success as a musician.

TheShrinkingcreator, 55, spoke with PEOPLE exclusively at the premiere of season 2 of the series, saying that while he’s loved watching his 24-year-old daughter become more and more successful, he hasn’t been able to help her out at all as she’s pursued her music career.

“This was so fun because I had a semblance of control. My wife and I have no connections in music, and she’s been living in that world for so long,” the proud dad says of Charlotte.

“We took the whole family to see her play at Radio City Music Hall like four months ago and I can’t help her and I don’t know anybody. And most of the people I met wear really shiny suits and I don’t have any shiny suits.”

Lawrence shares his daughter with longtime wife andShrinkingstar Christa Miller. The two are also parents to sons William and Henry.

In late August, Miller shared a video of her daughter Charlotte singing alongside Paul McCartneyon her Instagram. The proud mom captured her daughter singing and dancing around on stage with The Beatles singer, writing a sweet tribute in her caption.

“Pretty sure@charlotteslawrenceis having the best week ever? She’s staring in Bad Monkey on@appletvand last night she just casually pulled@paulmccartneyon stage with her@chadsmithofficial+@thisiswatt,” Miller wrote.

“Absolutely killing it. So proud of you Char!! 🐒🎸.”
