Brie Garcia Gives Update on Sister Nikki After Artem Chigvintsev’s Arrest: 'She's Going Through Something Personal'

On the latest episode ofThe Nikki & Brie Show, Brie explained that her sister would not take part in the episode due to recent events, which also included Chigvintsev’s arrest on suspicion of domestic violence on Aug. 29.

“Nikki isn’t here because, as you all know, she’s going through something personal in her life,” Brie said. “And she just asks for her privacy for her and her family, so we’re going to give that."

“But she sees all the support and love,” she added. “And we’re always grateful for all of your love and support, so thank you all for that.”

Brie shared that Nikki planned to return to the podcast the following week.

This announcement came just days after the former WWE wrestlers wereseen out togethershopping for pumpkins in Napa Valley , Calif. on Sept. 20. Nikki was not wearing her wedding ring, as the outing came just a week after she filed for divorce from theDancing with the Starsalum.

A rep for theTotal Bellasstar later confirmed to PEOPLE thatshe filed for divorceon Sept. 11 and “continues to ask for privacyfor her and her family at this time.”

Two days later, on Sept. 13, Chigvintsev filed a response requestingjoint legal and physical custody of their 4-year-old sonof Matteo and for his estranged wife to pay spousal support in addition to his attorney fees.

“At this time, Mr. Chigvintsev will not comment on any pending proceeding,” Chigvintsev’s attorneyIlona Antonyan told PEOPLE at the time. “The parties are focused on co-parenting and working together for the best interests of their son.”
