Brie Larson’s latest hair transformation proves her commitment to the craft.

In a couple of months, the Oscar winner, 35, will step onto the West End stage in London for the first time as the titular character in the revival of Sophocles’Elektra. And she cut off her signature long hair ahead of her debut performance, proving just how dedicated she is to the role.

In the first photo she sports a wide smile and in the second she poses with a more serious expression.

She captionedthe postwith “Elektra is here.”

The major haircut certainly comes as a surprise as Larson was pictured withlong blonde hairin a mirror selfie she posted to Instagram the day before. She was also last publicly photographed at theGiorgio Armani Ready-to-Wear spring 2025 fashion showin N.Y.C. on Oct. 17 with her wavy blonde locks intact.

A pre-run will play at the Theatre Royal Brighton from Jan. 13-18, 2025 before moving to London’s Duke of York’s Theatre for previews starting Jan. 24 and opening night on Feb. 5. The run will continue to April 12, 2025.
