A car ended up crashing through the roof of a California home over the weekend after the driver lost control of her vehicle, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said that the crash took place just before 6 p.m. local time on Sunday, Oct. 20, according toThe Los Angeles Times.
“The driver lost control and went over an embankment,” Lomita Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Jordan Kennedy tells PEOPLE of the driver.
“She had minor injuries and she was transported to a local hospital," Kennedy adds. “A large crane was used to remove the vehicle, and the L.A. County Fire Department was going to assess the house once the vehicle was removed.”
“It’s in the hands of traffic investigators now,” he continued, going on to note that drugs and alcohol are not considered to be facts in the crash and no criminal charges are pending.
Speaking with theTimes, a watch commander for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that the driver was older, and what happened was a “complete accident.”

“I looked in the family room and saw piles and piles of wood,” Killeen, said during an interview with CW affiliateKTLA. “The windows had shattered. It sounded like the whole house had exploded.”
Killeen said that it took first responders about 45 minutes to free the driver from the wreckage before she was taken to a hospital.
