Carrie Ann Inabahas a few choice words forAnna Delvey’s terse response to herDancing with the Starselimination.

Shortly after Delvey was cut from the show on Tuesday, Sept. 24, theDWTSjudge, 56, reacted to Delvey’s statement about learning “nothing” from the experience.

“We all put in the effort to give her a fair opportunity. But I don’t think she could see that and it’s a shame,” she added. “A little gratitude could have changed the narrative.”

“But I’d like to point out something important. Our fans don’t vote people off,” she explained. “That is not our format. UnlikeSurvivor,we don’t vote people off. Our fans vote for who they want to win.”

Though Delvey’s reaction has been controversial, Sosa, 23, toldExtrathat her parting wordswere anything but unexpected.

“I knew she was going to say something very iconic and something very ‘Anna Delvey’ with her exit,” he admitted. “Of course she has to — it’s very typical. We would expect nothing less of her.”

Despite her blunt reaction, the professional dancer revealed that Delvey apologized to him for endinghis first season as a proearly.

“She honestly kept on apologizing to me,” he shared. “She felt super sorry that my first season was cut short.”

He added that he wished the pair could have “stayed longer” in the competition, saying, “I honestly wanted to stay longer for my partner. I really wanted to give her a chance to really grow on camera and let America really see who she really is.”

Sosa also shared that he wants people to know “how incredibly sweet she is and how misunderstood she is,” adding, “I really tried my best to see her for the person she is outside the persona.”

Dancing with the Starsseason 33 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with the episode available to stream the next day on Hulu.
