Channing Tatumtraded in his signature dance moves for superhero action moves.
Tatum, 44, who made a cameo in the latest Marvel Studios blockbusterDeadpool & Wolverine, shared a glimpse at his preparation for his surprise role asGambit/Remy LeBeau.
In the hit film, theStep Upalum stars as an X-Men character thathe spent over a decade trying to bring to the big screen.
On Tuesday, August 6, Tatum posted anInstagramvideo showing various clips of him rehearsing his hand-to-hand combat for the film, and his use of Gambit’s signature bō staff.

He also shared a few clips of rehearsing in his costume and getting acquainted with Gambit’s look.
“Couillon-zwah!” he simply captioned the post.
The21 Jump Streetstar also reposted Reynolds’ Monday, Aug. 5 Instagram post in which he thanked Tatum for his involvement. Tatum added the post to his Instagram Stories and wrote, “This sweet man made me cry 😭.” Adding, “Laissez le bon temps rouler (Let the goods roll).”

Reynolds, 47, also shared a photo of Tatum to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, writing: “Not enough can be said about the crazy s— this guy can actually do with playing cards. He should not be allowed near any casino. Ever.” Tatum reposted the Stories to his own profile.

In Reynolds’ Monday tribute, he wrote: “Gambit is a guy Chan was born to play,” Reynolds, 47, wrote on Instagram Monday, Aug. 5, alongside a gallery of photos of Tatum working onDeadpool & Wolverine. “His story is similar to my road on Deadpool — in that Chan spent a decade trying to put the most comic-accurate version of Gambit on the big screen.”
Tatum was first considered to play Gambit in 2006 forX-Men: The Last Stand, but the character was written out of the movie. Three years later, Taylor Kitsch was cast in the part forX-Men Origins: Wolverine(2009). Tatum remained persistent that Gambit would have his own standalone film, but in 2019 when Disney completed its purchase of 20th Century Fox, the movie was canceled.

Now five years later, Tatum was able to bringhis vision of Gambit to life, and since he has thanked Reynolds andDeadpool & WolverinedirectorShawn Levyfor their support.
