“This book is a collection of my stories and advice from a lifetime of cooking and feeding the world around me,” he says. “Life can be messy, and it can be a joy. I know that as a cook, when things don’t go right, you need to adapt. You need to show what you can do, on the go, in real time. Maybe you have to break some rules, or take a different turn. Maybe you have to change the recipe.”

“Because you can’t make an omelet, or build a better world, without breaking some eggs,” he added.
