Corinne Foxx Celebrated Engagement in Dad Jamie Foxx’s Room at Physical Rehab Center: ‘So Intimate and Meaningful’

The 30-year-old actress told inVoguethat Hooten had originally arranged to pop the question in Ireland in the spring of 2023, but changed plans after her fatherJamie Foxxwas hospitalized due to a “medical complication.”

“We ended up spending our summer in Chicago while he recovered,” Corinne recalled. “Little did I know that Joe had changed his plans so he could still propose on the same day—just in a different city.”

She explained that Hooten proposed instead at a park in Chicago where “cherry blossoms” had been “in bloom,” and made sure it was a family affair. She noted that he had been in touch with her mom, dad and her aunts throughout the event.

“He flew in my mom from Los Angeles and had my aunts hiding in a bush FaceTiming my dad the entire time,” she shared withVogue.

However, it didn’t stop there, as the film producer made sure that his future bride’s father was able to celebrate with the couple.

“He even planned a very special post-engagement party in my dad’s room [at a physical rehabilitation center] in Chicago,” Corinne said. “It was a small celebration, but it was so intimate and meaningful.”

Corinne, who met her husband in 2018,announced their engagementonInstagramin December 2023 alongside black and white photos of the pair sailing on a boat. In the photos, she displayed her engagement ring, which appeared to feature a large solitaire emerald-cut diamond set on a thin diamond band.

“From the first time I saw you, I knew you were my forever 💍❤️,” she wrote at the time.

TheDjango Unchainedactor also cheered the engagement news, posting a touchingtributeto his daughter and Hooten on his own Instagram, writing, “congratulations on your engagement."
