Courteney Cox Recreates Her IconicScreamCharacter for Halloween—Baby Bangs and All!

The actress took to Instagram on Oct. 31 to show off her costume this Halloween, which is oneScreamfans might instantly recognize.

Dressed in a purple suit, Cox, 60, carefully gathers her costume-clad pups for a photo shoot. The dogs, dressed in Ghostface outfits, adorably sit in chairs while their mom positions them in poses — until actual Ghostface appears.

Cox belts out a pretty wicked film-worthy scream as someone dressed as the famous killer scares her from behind.

“Happy Halloween everyone!” she captioned the post.

TheFriendsalum joked about bringing back her bangs onHalloween four years ago, posting a selfie of her wearing clip-ins while someone dressed as Ghostface held a pair of scissors near her hairline. “Not the bangs!” she wrote.

And even though 24 years have passed since those choppy bangs hit the big screen for the first time, Cox still can’t help but shiver when thinking about the haircut to this day.

“There was nothing worse. That was a big lesson in life because that will forever be on film,” she said in a 2022 interview onThe Drew Barrymore Show.

Cox — who starred in sixScreamfilms, including the recent 2023 installment — added that she always wanted to push the boundaries when it came to her costumes, saying that she’d come up with a different look for every film “that was just over the top gross, or ugly or too much.”

So, the look was partially credited to her — and possibly her former costar and ex-husbandDavid Arquette, who joked in 2019 that he’d take “the fall for”Cox’s bad hair days.

“I suggested a Bettie Page look. It just didn’t work. I take full responsibility,” he commented on a throwback photo of Cox and her bangs.
