Dance Momsalum Kelly Hyland has shared the first milestone in her ongoing treatment forbreast cancer.
The reality star, 53, posted anInstagram videoof herself ringing the bell at her hospital to signify the end of her first round of chemotherapy treatment.
“I got to ring the bell today,” Hyland wrote in the caption for the video, posted Aug. 20. “This was the end of my first treatment … next steps surgery, 20 radiation and 11 more treatments. I GOT THIS.”
Hyland, clad in a long white dress and denim jacket, read a sign next to the bell aloud that says, “Ring this bell three times well, its toll to clearly say. My treatment’s done, this course is run, and I am on my way!”
Hyland then rang the bell an extra time, and added with a laugh, “Oops, I rang it four times.”

“I booked myself a mammogram,” Hyland toldE! News. “I had just had one done eight months prior and the results came back clean. However, this new mammogram and sonogram did not, it came back showing a mass.”
“I was shocked that it had grown that quickly and scared of the battle I knew I was about to face.”
As theAmerican Cancer Societyexplains, grade 3 cancer means “the cancer cells look very different from normal cells and are growing faster… High grade DCIS is often more likely to turn into invasive breast cancer.”
Hyland, who shares kidsBrooke, 26, Paige, 23, and Josh, 24, with husband Randy, said it was a “very hard conversation” to share her diagnosis.
As she told the outlet, “I hate feeling like I am inconveniencing anyone or being a burden in any way.”
“However, I am quickly learning I am on a very long and tough road, so I am going to need to learn to accept people’s help because I am very lucky to have people that want to take care of me during this time.”
