Disney World’s New Bakery Cuts Prices After Backlash — with Some Items Being Reduced by Only 1 Cent

It’s not a piece of cake to keepDisney-goers happy.
The spot first posted its menu on the new location’s windows in early October, according toBlog Mickey, which has shared photos of both theoriginalandrevisedmenus. Cake slices were originally listed for as much as $26, a piece of pie was $21 and a specialty cappuccino cost $10.

Disneyfans quickly criticized the prices in online reviews.
“As good as the food may look, these prices are really ridiculous! I get inflation, I get its ‘Disney’ i dont get the cost of an egg sandwich is $23,” one person wrote in a Google review in advance of the opening.
Another reviewer called the prices “insane” and said, “My family of 6 can’t afford this. How are we supposed to enjoy the magic. Walt wouldn’t want this.”

The Cake Bake Shop has since updated the menu listings.Fantasyland Newsalso detailed the old and new prices in apostshared on Oct. 22. The Mixed Berry Cheesecake has one of the most drastic price changes, dropping from $26 to $18.99. The All-Butter Croissant also has a significant cost change from the original $12 to $5.99.
Other treats went up in price, like the All-Butter Pound Cake and Blueberry Crumb Cake that bumped up to $8.99 from the original $8.
Cost adjustments made all but one of the cake slices $22.99.
Representatives for Disney World and the Cake Bake Shop did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The Cake Bake Shop Bakery will have handmade cakes as counter-service. Fans looking for table service can go to the restaurant, which will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in addition to afternoon tea, brunch, desserts and cocktails “while you take in views of Crescent Lake,” per thepark’s website.
