It’sElizabeth Banks' time to shine.
For Tuesday’s Aug. 13 premiere of herlatest movie,Skincare, the actress, 50, stepped out in New York City wearing a silver cowl neck sequin dress. Her minidress included a variety of sequins that increased in size toward the bottom and she topped her look off with a pair of black tights and an oversized black blazer.

The actress was also seen in the same sparkling ensemble when she served as a guest onThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonon Tuesday. But for that appearance, she kept her blazer off, directing all eyes to the shimmery dress.

WhileSkincareis a fictional story,some of it is actually based in truth.Former aesthetician-to-the-stars Dawn DaLuisewas acquitted of involvement in a murder-for-hire plot after being arrested in 2014. (DaLuise hassaid she is considering legal actionagainst the film.)
Going into the project, Banks said she wasn’t aware of DaLuise’s story.
“I didn’t know it at all. I had never heard about it. I was just all in on Hope Goldman and this character and the sort of milieu of L.A.,” she toldEntertainment Weeklyin July.

“So when I read the script, that’s what I was thinking,” she continued. “I was like, ‘I’m going to base it on Matty.’ "
