Elton John Reveals He Has 'Limited Vision' in One Eye After 'Severe' Infection: 'I Am Healing'

Elton Johnrevealed he has “limited vision” in one of his eyes following a severe eye infection.

On September 3, the “Tiny Dancer” hitmaker, 77, shared the health updateon Instagram, assuring fans that he’s made strides in his recovery.

“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” he wrote. “I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”

“I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks,” he continued. “I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.”

John’s severe eye infection comes after the music legend was hospitalized last year after suffering “a slip” while at his Mont Boron villa outside of Nice, France. The musician was taken to Princess Grace Hospital in Monaco and kept overnight for observation.

A previous fall is what also caused the “Rocket Man” singer topush back the remainder of his 2021 tour datesto 2023. The accident left his hip in “considerable pain and discomfort,” and though he underwent physio and specialist treatment, he had limited mobility and had to undergo surgery.

“I have been advised to have an operation as soon as possible to get me back to full fitness and make sure there are no long-term complications,” John saidin a statementat the time.
