In aReddit poston the popular Subreddit r/weddingshaming, a venue owner recalled the actions of a groomzilla who demanded dinner be served at his wedding despite the food being a “safety issue.”
“The groom’s mom not only showed up with a car full of soup against our contract today, but also seven pans of fried fish… five hours before dinner service began,” the venue owner wrote. “The caterers and our venue refused to serve the fish because it was made and delivered way too early and was a food safety issue.”

The venue owner ended up allowing the couple to serve the soup, as long as the caterers agreed to accept liability for it. But, the old fish was still a hard no.
The venue owner shared their frustration with the groom.
“I swear, if this groom calls me angry this week, I want to actually ask him to cook some fish at home, leave it out on the counter for hours, eat it, and then get back to me about what we should have done in this situation,” the poster continued. “I’m so over explaining to people that we are looking out for everyone’s best interests with these rules.”

“Broth can be a bacterial breeding ground, regardless of how clean the kitchen was,” one user wrote.
“The groom is an a**hole. End of story,” another person commented. “He and his family don’t understand and don’t care about food safety. The venue would have been well within its contract rights to shut everything down and told everyone to go home due to the groom’s bad behavior.”
