Erin and Ben Napier Reveal Daughter Mae Slept in Handmade Family Crib for the Last Time 'Until My Babies Become Mamas'

Ben and Erin Napierare celebrating a bittersweet family milestone.

But it wasn’t just any old crib — per both posts, Ben, 40, started drawing up plans to hand-build the crib when he learned that Erin, 39, was pregnant with their first daughter,Helen, now 6.

“Minutes after learning we were expecting Helen, in 2017,@scotsman.costarted drawing the plans for her crib,” Erin began the caption ofher post, which included a carousel of photos of the crib and her husband in the process of building it.

“He built it from white oak with one tiny plug of heart pine in the top rail that came from inside the wall of our house so his daughter would have a piece of home that belonged to her,” the caption continued. “Mae slept in it for the last time last night so here, we can remember it.”

In hisInstagrampost on Sept. 1, Ben revealed that the crib he built for Helen and Mae will be staying in the family.

After describing the piece of furniture, made of “antique cherry Jenny Lind” wood, the lifestyle host reflected on the passage of time.

“The crib will live in her room for a few more weeks in case she has some trouble with her big girl bed, but she’s ready. The white oak crib will go into storage until my babies become mamas, then it will be used again. Nothing makes you more aware of time than having children,” he wrote.

In June, the mom of two also reflected onher Instagramabout how fast kids grow up in a post about Mae wearing a beloved unicorn costume for the last time.

“I saw a ‘last time’and knew it: the passed down 2T unicorn costume they loved that I got at Dirt Cheap for $3 was worn for the last time this week,” she wrote in the photo caption.
