After finding the reptile, the family calledSnake Catcher Dan, a licensed snake catcher in Queensland, for help.
Daniel Busstra of Snake Catcher Dan responded to the call and arrived at the home shortly after to remove the creature. Busstra told Storyful that the family had left their windows and doors open during nice weather, which allowed thepython to slither into the houseand behind the coffee table.
Busstra’s snake removal was caught on camera. In the clip, Busstra first tries to pull the python out from behind the coffee table with a hook. After the hook fails to secure the snake, Busstra reaches his hand behind the coffee table with his bare hands and slowly pulls the reptile out from behind the furniture.

The snake makes several attempts to bite Busstra before the man holds up the reptile and calls it “beautiful.” The snake catcher also notes that having a carpet python in your home is “not ideal.”
The clip ends with Busstra quickly putting the large snake into a bag to prevent the python from becoming too stressed.
“I picked up the snake, who was quite defensive, and safely captured it in the snake bag,” Busstra told Storyful about how the rescue went.
After Busstra removed the carpet python from the home, it was relocated to a less developed area and released.
