Family Gathers as Tito Jackson Laid to Rest at Los Angeles Funeral After His Death at Age 70

Tito Jackson’s loved ones have laid the late musician to rest.

After the originalJackson 5member’s death at age 70 on Sept. 5, a funeral service was held in his memory at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles on Monday, Nov. 4.

Paris, 26, appeared to be wearing a black dress and black boots, while Bigi, 22, sported a black suit with a white button-down shirt and tie.

According to theDaily Mail,La Toya JacksonandMarlon Jacksonwere at the gathering, as well as two ofJermaine Jackson’s children,Jaafar JacksonandJermajesty Jackson.

Kimora Lee Simmons,ex-wife of music mogulRussell Simmons, was also among the guests at the funeral, per theNew York Post’sPage Six.

On the day of Tito’s death, the musiciansuffered a medical emergency at a New Mexico shopping center, theGallup Police Departmentconfirmed to PEOPLE in a press release.

Officers were notified of “an individual requiring medical attention and promptly requested an ambulance” near the American Heritage Plaza around 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 15, in Gallup, N.M.

The individual, later identified as Tito, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the press release said.

Last month, Tito’s sisterJanetshared a sweet tribute to himon her Instagram Stories. “May you rest in eternal peace 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I miss you so much! ❤️” she wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of a young Janet standing before her older brother wearing a fedora and printed shirt.

In addition to Tito and Janet,the iconic Jackson family treeincludes siblings Rebbie, 74, Jackie, 73,Jermaine, 69,La Toya, 68, Marlon, 67, Brandon — who died after birth in 1957 — the lateMichaeland Randy, 62.

Tito was alsoa father to sons Taj, 51, Taryll, 49, and TJ, 46, with ex-wifeDelores “Dee Dee” Martes.

Taj, TJ and Taryll, who perform in the group 3T, shared ajoint postin tribute to their father after his death. “It’s with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken,” they wrote.

“Our father was an incredible man who cared about everyone and their well-being," they continued. “Some of you may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some may know him as ‘Coach Tito’ or some know him as ‘Poppa T.’ Nevertheless, he will be missed tremendously. It will forever be ‘Tito Time’ for us. Please remember to do what our father always preached and that is ‘Love One Another.’ We love you Pops.”
