Fisher-Price Recalls More Than 2 Million Baby Swings 'Due to Suffocation Hazard' After 5 Infant Deaths Reported

Posted to the CPSC’s website on Thursday, Oct. 10,the recallcited “all models of Fisher-Price Snuga Swings,” of which around 2.1 million have been sold in the U.S. since 2010. An additional 99,000 swings were sold in Canada and about 500 in Mexico, per the recall.

“Between 2012 and 2022, there have been reports of five deaths involving infants 1 to 3 months of age when the product was used for sleep,” the release stated.

It added, “In most of those incidents, the infants were unrestrained and bedding materials were added to the product.”

The CPSC and Fisher-Price said the recall was “due to suffocation hazard,” noting, “The swing should never be used for sleep and bedding materials should never be added to it.”

The recall lists nearly two dozen model numbers, and also includes “any replacement seat pad for the above Product Numbers/SKUs.”

The swings retailed for about $160 and were sold at Amazon, Toys R Us, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Target from October 2010 through January 2024, per the recall.
