Gordon Ramsayis opening up about the gravity of his bike accident.

In June, theMasterChefstar revealed thathe had a scary bike accidentin Connecticut that left him with heavily-bruised ribs and “looking like a purple potato,” he said at the time. “[I’m] most thankful for my helmet that saved my life.”

Now, in the October cover story forMen’s Health UK, Ramsay spoke about how his injuries limited his mobility, even when it came to simple daily tasks like dressing himself.

“I couldn’t even put my f—ing socks and pants on,” he revealed. “Justin [Mandel, his assistant], he used to dress me in the morning. I felt like a f—ing 95-year-old man. Asking a 30-year-old kid to put my f—ing underpants on was embarrassing.”

Ramsay is back to looking like his old self — he poses shirtless and in his biking gear for the feature. (The full interview can be read on theMen’s Health UKwebsitenow, or in the new issue on sale Sept. 10.)

In Ramsay’s initial Instagram post revealing his accident, he put out a PSA for his fans to always where a helmet when biking. “I’m in pain. It’s been a brutal week,” he said. “And I’m sort of getting through it. But I cannot tell you the importance of wearing a helmet.”

He also noted that the accident “really shook me" and he had been admitted to a hospital for care. “Honestly, I’m lucky to be here,” he said.

In the first video, Ramsay filmed himself riding alongside a riverbank. He then panned the camera across the road as he asked, “Where is he?” Oscar then appeared, cycling up next to him on a blue bike wearing a helmet.

The restaurateur then went through a safety checklist with his son as he asked him, “Helmet’s on, gears are intact, yes?” Oscar responded, “Yes!” Ramsay then asked, “Eyes on the road, yes?” Oscar called back, “Yes!”

“Good boy … off he goes,” Ramsay said, turning the camera on himself. “So nice to be back on the bike."
