Halsey Shares New Details of Avan Jogia's 'Sweet' Proposal in Barcelona: 'Really Special'

Halseyis opening up about her engagement!

During the episode, Halsey revealed that Jogia, 32, popped the question in Barcelona, where the couple first connected.

“It’s kind of like where we first started hanging out, so it’s really special to us. I wasn’t sure that I was ready, but I was also kind of like, ‘You’re literally the most amazing, smartest, hottest, nicest person I’ve ever met in my life, so don’t go anywhere.’ I’m trying to figure it out," she said.

In the past, Halsey, who uses she/they pronouns, said she wasn’t interested in the idea of marriage.

“What changed?” Cooper asked. “Avan,” Halsey replied.

“I couldn’t really understand the point of marrying just from, like, an emotional point of view,” the singer said. “I was like, well, if you love each other, then just be together…I didn’t understand it. And then, I don’t know, it was just something with him where I just knew I wanted to marry him.““Because I do,” she continued. “I love him in such a way that I feel like we would be just as fine if we didn’t [get married]. But something about that makes me wanna do it more.“Jogia and Halsey were first seen together in September 2023 when they were spotted kissing in Los Angeles. About one month later, Halsey posted a slideshow of images — many of which featured Jogia — on Instagram, whichconfirmed their relationship.

The “Bad at Love” singerconfirmed their engagementon X, formerly known as Twitter. A post read, “Halsey says she hopes to marry boyfriend Avan Jogia,” with a photo of the couple attached. Halsey quote-replied to the post, “***fiancé Avan Jogia.”

“There was just like, this warmth and this like light just emanating off of him,” Halsey told Cooper. It was so compelling. It was so alluring. I just like sitting at the table, I just wanted to lean over the table, sit closer to him. I was just so drawn to him…”

Halsey was previously in a relationship withscreenwriter Alev Aydin, with whom she shares 3-year-old son,Ender Ridley. The two had “an amicable split” after four years together, calling it quits in April 2023.
