One year after secretly marrying in a New York City courthouse,Justin BieberandHailey Biebertied the knot again in front of family and friends on Sept. 30, 2019.
The couple hosted 154 guests at luxury resort Montage Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina, including their parents and several of their celebrity friends. Justin and Hailey kicked off their wedding festivities with an intimate rehearsal dinner where they transported guests via speed boat the night before they exchanged vows at the resort’s on-site chapel.
Justin and Haileyannounced their engagementin July 2018, just two months before they tied the knot in a civil ceremony. Though their South Carolina ceremony was the pair’s second trip down the aisle, a source told PEOPLE that having a religious ceremonywas very important to them both.
“It was all flawless and absolutely magical. They were thrilled to have their families and friends in South Carolina. It meant more than they imagined,” the source told PEOPLE. “Although they were already married, their religious wedding ceremony was very important. It now feels more official for them.”

The Biebers hosted their wedding weekend at Montage Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina. The evening before the ceremony, Justin and Haileyhosted a rehearsal dinnerfor close friends and family at the resort’s Moreland Landing. Guests were transported to the event via speed boats, where they enjoyed local cuisine and bowling.
“Justin and Hailey took a speedboat down the river to the rehearsal dinner. They both seemed beyond excited,” an insider told PEOPLE at the time. “Hailey looked stunning in short, white dress. They enjoyed local food, including an oyster roast.”

In episode eight ofJustin Bieber: Seasons, the pair gave fans aglimpse into their intimate ceremony. Footage showed Justin messing up the words of his vows several times, but Hailey said in the video that despite any mishaps, the events of the day were “meant to be."
“Everything happened the exact way it was supposed to, I really believe that,” she said. “Even all the little mishaps that might’ve happened and us stumbling over our words, whatever it was, I think that it was so meant to be.”
As for the small ceremony, Hailey shared, “We kept it really small because it makes it so much more fun. And the little things that I was worried about, none of that energy got brought into the actual day.”

Hailey and Justin’s second weddingwas a star-studded event. Among the 154 guests were Hailey’s father Stephen, motherKennya Baldwin, sisterAlaia Baldwinand cousinIreland Baldwin, as well as Justin’s parents, Pattie Mallette and Jeremy Bieber.

While their guest list was filled with celebrity friends, Hailey shared in episode seven ofJustin Bieber: Seasonsthat she and Justin only invited those who were a part of their journey as a couple.
“We just decided that smaller and intimate was gonna be the better situation for the two of us because we wanted people who had been very super involved in the journey and who were still super involved in our life currently, and who are still part of our day to day lives right now,” she said.

Hailey completed her bridal look with a custom veil embroidered with the phrase “Till Death Do Us Part” and Minny heels from Jimmy Choo. In 2019, the model toldVogueduring her final dress fitting thatshe knew she wanted Ablohto design her ceremony look “from day one.”
“I didn’t want somebody who was a wedding dress designer,” she said. “I just feel like my style and my street style is such a part of who I am. Virgil has kind of always just been in my corner since the beginning.”
Hailey also shared that she was heavily involved in the design process. “I was specific on the sleeves. I knew I wanted them to be long onto my hands. I knew I wanted this silhouette. I knew I wanted my back to be showing,” she said.
In addition to a photo booth, guests enjoyed Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut in customized bottles made with 9,682 Swarovski crystals. Justin and Hailey could also be seen cutting a five-tier white wedding cake in episode eight ofJustin Bieber: Seasons, which included figurines of the pair as a cake topper.

“We were at the wedding and realized that I had never been a ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ that got sang to, so everybody insisted that I get brought up on stage,” Hailey said inJustin Bieber: Seasons. “I was, like, giddy, like as if it was really happening onstage and it was just so silly and cute.”

Hailey changed into two other dresses for her wedding reception. The first was a custom Rich & Russo silk gown with a halter neckline and a thigh-high slit. She paired the dress with a leather motorcycle jacket from Celine, which was embroidered with the word “Wife."
”This was [definitely] more of the party dress. They were much more open to something seductive, light and sensual [for this look],” Wang toldVogueof the dress design. “The wedding dress had a certain formality to it. This was meant to be the complete opposite. I love using the dancer reference with this because when I see her I sort of see a ballerina.”
