Don’t askHarrison Fordabout his short-shorts.

“This isGQ, so I have to ask you one fashion question,” reporter Gabriella Paiella says in their conversation.

“There’s this photo of you at the Cannes Film Festival in 1982, where you’re wearing blue shorts and a blue sweater. It’s become this sort of shining-star inspirational outfit for menswear enthusiasts. Are you aware of this?”

Ford responded: “I think I’m going to be ill.” He acknowledges that he’s “seen this picture,” and when asked if he’s a fan, he said: “I’ve grown out of it.”

Ford completes the look with aviator shades and leather top-sider boat shoes, standing in front of Hotel Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France.

Elsewhere in his interview, Ford also touched upon himspontaneously getting his ear pierced. “You know the story. I’d just had lunch with Jimmy Buffett and Ed Bradley. That’ll do it to you every time,” he said, referring to him being “way ahead of the curve with the earring.”

“I saw both of them had earrings. So right after lunch, I got my ear pierced,” he previously said in April about the piercing that came after their “boozy” lunch. “That’s just how infectious Jimmy’s coolness is.”

“Infectious enough for a 40-year-old man to spontaneously get his f—ing ear pierced. And infectious enough to create an entire culture around his music,” he continued.

“There is no other way to say it: There will never be another like Jimmy.”
