Heidi Klum Has Been Working on Her Halloween Costume 'for Months': 'Don't Want to Let Anyone Down' (Exclusive)

Heidi Klumis opening up about her Halloween plans!

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at theAmerica’s Got TalentSeason 19 Finale 1 on Tuesday, Sept. 17,Klum, 51, revealed that she’s been working on her costume “for months already.”

“Because molds need to be made,” she tells PEOPLE. “Prosthetics need to be made, fittings have to be had.”

“So yeah, there goes a lot into it because I wanted to be so spectacular that this is not something I can just throw together overnight," she adds.

She continues of the pressure she feels to deliver on her annual outfit, “It takes a long time. It takes a lot of planning. And also then when I do the reveal, I want to have a special reveal because I know I have so many fans and those particular Halloween fans are people who love also dressing up and coming up with amazing things.”

“So I feel like they’re really looking at what I’m doing and I don’t want to let anyone down, so I’m always giving everything,” she says.

Since the early 2000s, the supermodel has become known forwearing extravagant Halloween costumesto her iconic N.Y.C. Halloween party.

“I wanted to do a costume with many, many people,“she told PEOPLEahead of the spooky holiday. “I wanted to have a bunch of people and we all become one thing. And for me, in my mind, that one thing was the peacock.”
