Baldoni, 40, told PEOPLE ahead of the film’s release that he madeIt Ends with Usfor any audience member who recognizes its patterns of domestic violence “anddoesn’t go back home… It’s about that one person who’s in a similar situation to Lily who makes a different choice for herself than was made for her.”

In 2022, Hoover published a follow-up novel titledIt Starts with Us. While there’s no official word yet ona possible movie adaptation, Sklenar, 34, toldAccessin September that he “would love to” film a sequel: “I hope we can get it together because I think the fans deserve it.”
