Jamie Foxx Reveals the Daily Mantra He Lives by After Surviving 'Darkness' of His Health Emergency

Jamie Foxxhas a new outlook on life after making it through the “darkness” of his 2023 medical emergency.

Foxx referenced hisApril 2023 medical emergency, which happened while he was in Atlanta filming the Netflix movieBack in Action.

“When you come through the darkness, the light looks brighter… and while I’m at it I want to say thank you to everyone that sent up a prayer… I needed it,” he added.

The Oscar winner,who is dad to two daughters, will open up about his mystery health scare in an upcoming Netflix special titledJamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…. premiering Dec. 10.

Back in July, though, he did tell a group of people in a videoshared on Xthat the situation began when he had a “bad headache.” “I was gone for 20 days,” he said in that video. “I don’t remember anything.”

Foxx performed the comedy special in Atlanta during a series of shows in October.“I have to thank you Atlanta you showed up and you showed out, I haven’t been on stage in 18 years but I needed the stage and I needed an audience that was made up of nothing but pure love and that’s what you were,” he wrote in an Oct. 14Instagrampost.

“When people ask me is this a stand up comedy show I say ‘No it’s an artistic explanation,’ " he added.
