Jane Fonda to Receive 2025 SAG Life Achievement Award: 'Deeply Honored and Humbled'

Jane Fondais set to receive a huge honor at the 2025Screen Actors Guild Awards.

On Thursday, Oct. 17, SAG-AFTRA announced Fonda, 87, as the 60th recipient of the SAG Life Achievement Award, which will be presented to her at the 31st SAG Awards on Feb. 23, 2025.

“SAG-AFTRA works tirelessly to protect the working actor and to ensure that union members are being treated equitably in all areas, and I am proud to be a member as we continue to work to protect generations of performers to come.”

Barbra Streisandreceived the award at the 2024 SAG Awards in February, whileSally FieldandHelen Mirrenaccepted the honor at the 2023 and 2022 ceremonies, respectively.

The award goes to “a well-established performer who has contributed to improving the image of the acting profession and has a history of active involvement in humanitarian and public service endeavors,” the press release added.

In a statement, SAG-AFTRA presidentFran Drescherdescribed Fonda as “a trailblazer and an extraordinary talent; a dynamic force who has shaped the landscape of entertainment, advocacy and culture with unwavering passion.”

“We honor Jane not only for her artistic brilliance but for the profound legacy of activism and empowerment she has created,” Drescher, 67, said. “Her fearless honesty has been an inspiration to me and many others in our industry.”

Fonda, daughter of late actorHenry Fonda, has starred on the screen for over six decades, with her first screen credit coming for 1960’sTall Story.

Most recently, the actress — who is also well-known for herhumanitarian workandpolitical activism— appeared on the big screen in 2023’s80 for BradyandBook Club: The Next Chapter; she also appeared inJennifer Lopez’s 2024 filmThis Is Me… Now.

The 31st annual SAG Awards will stream live on Netflix Sunday, Feb. 23, at 8 p.m. ET.
