Jennifer Hudsonsays the kitchen is the heart of her household.
During an interview with PEOPLE for her partnership with Dawn, the EGOT winner, 42, shared that she’s been enjoying quality time in the kitchen with her teen son,David.
Hudson tells PEOPLE their roles have reversed in the kitchen.
“He’ll tell me, ‘Mama, you wash the dishes. Mama, you set the table,’ Now, that’s my job,” she laughs. “It’s amazing to see how much quickly they grow.”

Jennifer’s son, along with his cousins, enjoy trying all different recipes in her kitchen.
“Well, you know these children and these TikTok trends and recipes. He comes up with different things all the time. Not only do I have my son, I have him and seven of his cousins. It’s a bunch of boys, going off of TikToks or recipe books and cooking up all these different things,” she says.

Jennifer’s proud that the boys have pretty wide-ranging palates.
“My son, he loves everything. He loves his steak. We love making pizza together, which is something that’s so fun. He takes that over! And any dish that he comes up with from TikTok, he makes it, and then I have to taste it all. Luckily, he’s a good cook, so it turns out okay,” she says.
