John Amos' Final Role Was inSuits LA— See the First Look

John Amoswill make a posthumous appearance in the upcomingSuits LAseries — his last role before his death in Aug. 21.

In a first look photo, the Emmy-nominated actor appears as himself in the highly-anticipated legal drama though no plot details have been revealed. Amos can be seen sitting in front of a desk in what appears to be a legal office as he looks pensively off into the distance.

On Oct. 1, theGood Timesalum’s sonKelly Christopher “K.C.” Amosrevealed that he died of natural causes in Los Angeles on Aug. 21 in a statement shared with PEOPLE. While reflecting on his father’s legacy, K.C. also revealed that Amos was a part ofSuits: L.A.

“It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned,” K.C. wrote. “He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved the world over.”

“My father loved working as an actor throughout his entire life,” he added. “Most recently inSuits LAplaying himself and our documentary about his life journey as an actor,America’s Dad. He was my dad, my best friend, and my hero. Thank you for your prayers and support at this time.”

On July 19, NBCUniversal announcedSuits LA— the upcoming spinoff which is set in the same universe as the original legal drama,Suits— had been picked up for a series order.

ArrowalumStephen Amell will lead the castas Ted Black, a “former federal prosecutor from New York" who “has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles,” according to the show’s official description.

The cast will also includeThe Walking DeadactorJosh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, the co-founder of Black Lane Law, and Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, “a savvy and strong-willed rising star who works for Ted Black,“per Deadline.

Other cast members include Troy Winbush as Kevin, Alice Lee as Leah and Bryan Greenberg as Rick Dodson.
