Leela’s tan suit — from the Richfresh and Janie and Jack collab — had a dark racing stripe down the pant leg and matching accents on the jacket pockets but was otherwise pretty identical to Kamala’s. The two even wore matching white shirts under the jackets.
Leela did rock a pair of Nike sneakers with her suit, though, adding a bit of extra flair. Though Kamala has been known to slip on a pair of sneakers of her own from time to time — like when she wore them on thecover ofVoguein 2021— she wore a pair of smart heels for the DNC.

Meena shared a carousel of photos of Leela, as well as older sister Amara, 8, at the DNC onInstagramon Aug. 20. She captioned the photos, “‘Auntie, we’re matching!'” She also included a video of her daughter showing off the outfit, as well as a photo of both girls and another video of both of them watching the DNC from their seats. Meena even threw in a picture of Kamala in her brown suit to show off the twinning moment between the vice president and her great-niece.
This isn’t the first time Leela has made a fashion statement in Kamala’s image. At the presidential inauguration in 2021, when President Joe Biden took office and Kamala took up her post as vice president, Leela and Amara — who were 2 and 4 years old at the time — were dressed to the nines for the occasion. They wore tiny faux fur plush leopard coats that were made to look like ones that Kamala and her sister Maya Harris (Meena’s mother)had worn when they were young.
Meena shared the photo on Instagram (in a post that has since been deleted) and wrote that the coats were made to “look just like Auntie’s.”
